Happy Holidays! I’m excited to share my 25-days journey with you. This show was an excellent opportunity to experiment with my process and get loads of practice. I painted all my canvases the same color, applied collage, varnish, and more paint, sanded, drew, added, and subtracted. It was super stressful at times and extremely fun most of the time.
I had asked my friends for any suggestions they might have for these minis, and one that I loved was a topiary. I drew the topiary with graphite and added a bit of typography from an old Time Magazine. I love how the dark values pop and the collage has a dynamic diagonal composition. I know it's unconventional, but I do not decorate with red for the holidays. I love the hints of soft pink in this piece. Very romantic!
