There is a lot going on in this piece. I had left two windows open when I painted over my collage because I really like the black maze-like lines. When I was distressing the paint I broke through and a black circle was revealed. This lead to me using it as a pulley and connecting to the lines. I decided to draw a bucket and I just imagined this was starting to look like something that should be on a treehouse, so I drew the platform and ladder. This sign hangs on the door to my studio at home and was made by a graphic designer. I photographed it and did an image transfer onto the canvas.
This is often how my work evolves. Something sparks a story and I just keep making things up!
