I love to buy new art supplies and try new things. When another artist informed me that blue painters' tape comes in a 6-inch-wide roll and you can cut your own stencils out of it, I was sold! I cut a simple tree design, and if you don’t already know, if you first paint over the stencil with a matte gel and let that dry, your paint color will not bleed under the tape, giving perfectly straight edges. I used that same technique to add crisp lines.
